Meet the Maker - Tomas.

Hi, I’m Tomas — the maker behind Tomas Makes.

I’m an art-driven engineer turning unusual ideas, precise materials, and personal details into wearable objects. Why so complex?

The Past.

I always hesitated to call myself a jeweler.

I never worked with traditional precious metals or gemstones, I didn’t learn classic goldsmithing techniques, and for a long time, I wasn’t sure that title fit me at all. My world came from a different place.

From an early age, everything around me revolved around engineering, especially motorsport. After my studies, I began my career building race cars, followed by custom motorcycles. I loved designing, solving problems, and machining bespoke parts.

Over time, I realized I was constantly chasing the same thing in everything I touched: precision, structure, and perfection.

Slowly, the mechanic in me transformed into an artist.

The Present.

Today, I create bracelets, rings, and custom objects with the same mindset I once used for mechanical parts.

My work is strongly influenced by the EDC world: pocket tools, knives, watches, machined gear, and objects made to be carried, used, and appreciated every day. That world introduced me to materials far outside traditional jewelry: titanium, zirconium, carbon fiber, mokume-gane, timascus, damascus steel, and other exotic composites.

I’m drawn to these materials because they have character. Some are technical, some are unpredictable, and some reveal patterns that can never be repeated exactly the same way twice. For me, that is where the piece becomes alive.

Many Tomas Makes pieces are made in very small batches or as true one-offs. The design may be precise, but the material often brings its own fingerprint: a color shift, grain, layer, texture, or pattern that makes each piece individual.

The Connection.

I enjoy direct contact with the people who wear my work. Custom pieces often start as a conversation about materials, proportions, textures, and small details that make the piece feel personal.

Tomas Makes is not traditional jewelry or mass production. It is precision, exotic materials, and wearable art, made slowly and with purpose.
